How to Choose a Lighting Supplier in Dubai
Pick a supplier who knows lighting, can show you work they have done, and wants your space to look good. Then check the lights themselves before you order.
Sounds obvious. It is not how most people buy.
The trouble with buying on price
A supplier earns more when you buy more. Most are honest about it. Some are not.
This is what goes wrong. A room gets more lights than it needs, and the extra light kills the mood. Old stock gets sold because it is sitting in a warehouse, when a better light cost the same. Nobody decides where each light should go, so they end up wherever the electrician puts them. And you pay more for a worse room.
You only find out when the ceiling is closed and the lights come on. That is the most expensive time to find out.
Five things to check before you say yes
Hold the light in your hand before you approve it.
Is it well made? Feel the weight. Look at the edges and joints.
Can it handle heat? LEDs wear out faster when they run hot, and a ceiling gets hot.
Will it look good on your ceiling? Check the finish, with the light on and off.
What is it made of? A good supplier knows without looking it up.
Where does the light go? Switch it on. See where it lands, and make sure it does not glare in your eyes.
If you can, test a sample in the room before you order the rest.
Get it in writing
Ask for a datasheet for every light, a sample, the delivery dates, and the warranty terms. Ask whether a broken light gets replaced or repaired. If a supplier will not put this in writing, that tells you enough.
