Custom Lighting in Dubai: The Two Kinds
When people ask for custom lighting, they mean one of two things.
A standard light, changed for you. The light already exists and does the job. We change its colour, its finish or its length so it fits your space.
A light made for you. A decorative piece, such as a chandelier or a pendant, made from your picture and your size.
The two take different times, need different things from you, and ask different things of the supplier. Here is how each one works.
First, what is not custom
Most of what a room needs is already standard. A narrow or a wide beam. Warm or cool light. Lights that do not glare. Lights for a bathroom or a garden. Lights that dim.
All of these are chosen from a range. You pick the right one, and nothing waits on a factory.
1. A standard light, changed for you
You found the right light, but it looks wrong in the room. A black spotlight in a white ceiling. A silver strip of light against gold joinery. A linear light that stops short of the shelf it should fill.
What can change: the body colour, the rim colour and finish, and the length of a linear light.
What to send: the light you want, and the colour as a code or a sample, or the length you need.
How long: 4 to 5 weeks.
2. A light made for you
You have a chandelier or a pendant in mind that no catalogue has. Or the one you love does not come in the size your room needs.
How it works:
You send a render or an image of the piece, and its size.
We agree the materials with you, and the budget the finished piece needs.
The factory makes a sample, so you see and feel the finish before the full order.
Then the piece is made.
How long: 8 to 12 weeks.
The minimum order
Custom work has a minimum. On a project that includes custom products, it is either 50 pieces of each product, or AED 100,000 across all of them.
Which one do you need?
The light works, but the colour, finish or length does not. A standard light, changed for you.
Nothing on the market looks like what you want. A light made for you.
You need a narrower beam, warmer light, or a light for the bathroom. That is standard. Choose it from the range.
How much custom work can a supplier handle?
Ask this before you order. Changing a colour or a length is common. Making a decorative piece from a picture is a different job, and it depends on procurement: finding the right maker, agreeing the materials and approving a sample.
Procurement is where our supply team is strongest. That is why we take on decorative pieces made from scratch, not only colour and length changes.

Standard options, chosen from the range: beams 8° to 50°, CRI 95+ (98+ optional), 2700K to 5000K or tunable white, IP20, IP44 or IP65, Triac, 0-10V, DALI or DALI-2 dimming
Custom, type 1 (a standard light, changed): body colour, rim colour and finish, linear length; 4 to 5 weeks
Custom, type 2 (a light made for you): decorative fixtures made to a render or image and dimensions, factory sample approved before production; 8 to 12 weeks
Minimum order for custom products: 50 pieces per product, or AED 100,000 across them
