A perfume boutique in a mall. The designer wanted drama. The mall wanted its light level. The lighting gave both, and the mall approved it first time.
The brief
The interior designer came to us with a boutique planned inside a mall. She wanted drama: light and shadow that make every product feel precious. She was not sure where the lights should go. Drama needs contrast, but the mall sets a minimum light level for every store, and deep shadows risked a rejection. The ceiling also had to stay calm, without the usual rows of spotlights.
The lighting idea
We grouped the spotlights in twos and threes, and gave each light its own beam and tilt. Each group lights one part of the boutique in its own way. The room reads as light and shadow, and the ceiling stays neat. Together, the groups lift the light level above the mall's minimum. The drama and the approval come from the same layout.

The result
The mall approved the lighting at the first submission. The boutique has the drama the designer wanted, and the result surprised even her.
